This wine represents the first concrete step on our journey: a Red created to express Sangiovese in a way that is clear, precise and faithful to the territory.
It is a wine that focuses on fruit, balance and drinkability, without artifice. Aiola Vecchia’s Rosso di Montepulciano is produced from 100% Sangiovese, sourced partly from the historic vineyard of 1971 and partly from the 2006 planting.
The grapes are harvested by hand in 15 kg cases, then destemmed and lightly crushed. Alcoholic fermentation is spontaneous and takes place in an open truncated conical wooden vat, with a maceration of 16-18 days.
We follow an artisanal approach: initial pumping over, manual punching down and aging in barrels of different sizes, designed to accompany the wine without overshadowing its identity. Production is deliberately limited to approximately 3.500 bottles.
The 2024 Vintage: A Promise
Rosso di Montepulciano 2024 was born as a preview of the Aiola Vecchia project.
While Fabio began working the Aiola Vecchia vineyard in the autumn of 2024 to prepare the vines for our first harvest in 2025, we wanted to share a first taste of our philosophy immediately.
For the 2024 Rosso di Montepulciano, Fabio personally selected grapes from a premier vineyard in one of Montepulciano’s most prestigious areas.
While not yet hailing from the vineyards of Aiola Vecchia, this wine already reflects the vision, experience and sensitivity that will drive the 2025 Rosso: a defined flavor profile, balance, and a clear territorial identity.
A first step, conscious and promising.
